Since the release of FIFA 19, the EA SPORTS FIFA team have been under pressure about gameplay and faulty servers. This has previously been a big problem in the FUT Champions Weekend League with many people voicing their bad experiences.
A key fix in this latest patch notes update is GK movement. This has been the most overpowered technique in terms of preventing goals, which includes the keeper moving to where they expect the shot to go. With this method now being disabled, it should significantly increase your success rate with clear one on one opportunities.
Many users have complained to EA about how overpowered timed finesse shots are, particularly in the FUT Champs Weekend League. As a result of this, the seventh FIFA patch update has nerfed and reduced the effectiveness of these types of shots as seen in the two comparison images shown above.
EA look like they may have finally got to grips with two of the most overpowered techniques in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team - timed finishing and goalkeeper movement. FIFA 19 Title Update 7 Patch Notes
Made the following changes:
- Reduced the maximum size of the Timed Finishing window for a green timed shot.
- The impact of this change will scale with a higher impact on shots where the time between the initial button press to take the shot and the button press to perform Timed Finishing is longer.
- For example, a first time finesse shot where the ball is coming from a long distance away, or when queuing up a shot after a long knock on during a dribble.
Reduced the effectiveness of yellow timed shots.
- These shots are now more likely to be impacted by error resulting in potentially less accuracy, ball speed and ball spin.
Reduced the effectiveness of higher powered finesse shots, both timed and non-timed shots.
- These shots are now more likely to be impacted by error resulting in potentially less accuracy, ball speed and ball spin.
Further reduced the likelihood that a shot which was correctly aimed into the net, and that was targeting a location near to the post, would miss the net in a shooting situation where the attacking player is under no defensive pressure and is not off balance.

Reduced the speed of the goalkeeper when being controlled by manual movement.
- The impact of this change will be higher when using manual movement during open play and lower when using manual movement during corner kicks and indirect free kicks.
Goalkeepers will now maintain a ready posture when being controlled by manual movement.

- An issue where a timed finesse shot would always have less error than a non-timed finesse shot, even in situations where the timed finesse shot was red or yellow.
- The level of error reduction for a timed finesse shot is now in line with the level of error reduction for other timed shots.
The ball speed of a yellow or red timed finesse shot was found to be too high and has been reduced. Rarely the goalkeeper was unable to move using manual movement during a corner kick. Rarely, in a situation where the goalkeeper thinks that the ball is going to go out of play but didn't, such as due to a deflection or an opposing player taking control of the ball, the goalkeeper was not reacting properly. If an AI Teammate runs into or jumps into the opposing goalkeeper it was possible for it to result in a goal and no called foul.
- This should now properly result in a foul being called and the goal not being allowed.
- An AI Teammate is any player on the pitch that is not being controlled by a human, or is not the CPU AI Controlled Player.
FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT):
Addressed the following issues:
- Sometimes the 'Take Me There' link for a Squad Building Challenge (SBC) would not take the player to the SBC screen.
- If this issue occurred, attempting to change tabs in the FUT hub would also not work correctly.
When completing an SBC with rewards that contained multiple packs of the same type, the SBC Completion Screen was only displaying the name under one of the packs. Attempting to list a player on the Transfer Market from the SBC Squad Screen, who had just been purchased off the Transfer Market, would sometimes result in an error.
Career Mode:
Addressed the following issues:
- In Player Career, finishing in first place in your league at the end of the season was not properly awarding the Win The League accomplishment. In Manager and Player Career, players being unable to grow their overall rating and instead showing as -1 overall in multiple screens. The Emirates FA Cup Final match being scheduled the day before the final match of the Premier League season.
- This fix will not impact existing Career Mode save files, only new Career Mode save files.
Online Modes:
Made the following changes:
- The fatigue reduction that is applied to a Pro Clubs player when it was being controlled by someone locked to a position has now also been applied to the players when they are being controlled by someone playing on 'Any'.

- In Pro Clubs, the Club Squad screen was not displaying the stats for each member of the club on the panel on the left side of the screen. Sometimes a Pro Clubs Virtual Pro's overall rating was incorrect when displayed in the Pro Clubs hub screens.

The overall rating that was being used during gameplay was also correct, so this was a visual issue only. For players that were impacted by this issue, you could see the overall rating of your Virtual Pro, when displayed in the Pro Clubs hub, be lower than it was prior to the title update.
- The overall rating used in gameplay and shown during a match should remain the same.

According to the devs, “The hope for these changes is that it will directly address situations where players were finding it too easy to achieve green timed shots that were coming from a long pass, a cross, or when queuing up a shot after a knock on during a run. The impact of this change will scale with a higher impact on shots where the time between the initial button press to take the shot and the button press to perform Timed Finishing is longer. For example, a first-time finesse shot where the ball is coming from a long distance away, or when queuing up a shot after a long knock on during a dribble.” Yellow Timed Shots Effectiveness - Yellow timed shots effectiveness were reduced for this new update. According to the devs, “We received feedback that powered finesse shots (both timed and non-timed) were too often resulting in a goal and adjustments were made to reflect a more consistent outcome where these types of shots are now more likely to be impacted by error resulting in potentially less accuracy, ball speed and ball spin.” In-Box Near Post Shots - Building further on changes made in Title Update 3, this update further reduces the likelihood that a shot which was correctly aimed into the net, and that was targeting a location near to the post, would miss the net in a shooting situation where the attacking player is under no defensive pressure and is not off balance. Goalkeeper Movement - Goalkeeper movement speed when being controlled by manual movement was reduced in this patch. The impact of this will be higher when using manual movement during open play and lower when in set pieces situations (corners and free kicks). Career Mode Changes and Updates
Overall Rating Fixed - After the last patch an issue with both Manager and Player Careers occurred where players were unable to grow their overall rating and instead was showing as -1 overall in multiple screens. This issue has been resolved with today's changes.
Fixed Career Mode ‘Win The League’ Award - In Player Career finishing in first place in your league at the end of the season was not properly awarding the Win The League accomplishment.
Fixed Emirates FA Cup Final Match Schedule - This update fixes an issue with the Emirates FA Cup Final Match being scheduled the day before the final match of the Premier League season (This fix will not impact existing Career Mode save files only new Career Mode save files).

Fatigue Reduction Changes - The fatigue reduction that is applied to a Pro Clubs player when it was being controlled by someone locked to a position has now also been applied to the players when they are being controlled by someone playing on 'Any'.

EA’s anticipated FIFA 19 Title Update 7 is finally official for the popular football game, for some users. This latest update is the one in which those pesky finesse shots and timed shooting are adjusted. In addition, other fixes or adjustments are in effect for Goalkeepers and Career Mode as well as Pro Clubs. Here’s a breakdown of some of the big changes that are now in effect for FIFA.

To summarize exactly what they changed, there was an issue involving the success of timed finesse shots being greater than the success of non-timed finesse shots. They adjusted the error levels on these shots to be more appropriate and on a similar level of error reduction.
Along with that, they reduced the “Maximum Size of the Timed Finishing window” on green timed shots. That fix addresses how easy it was to achieve green timed shots after a long pass, or when “queueing up a shot after a knock on during a run.”
The new patch update also addressed powered finesse shots whether timed or non-timed, as well as In-box near post shots.
EA’s team also tuned goalkeeper movement in their Title 7 update. One change they made was making a manually-controlled goalkeeper’s speed a bit slower than before. They mention this change will be more noticeable during manual movements in open play. The reduction of speed will have less impact on corners and free kicks, among set-piece situations.
In addition to that, when a gamer is manually controlling a goalkeeper, they will stay in a “ready posture.” This happens when a gamer is operating their goalkeeper using the right stick controls on FIFA 19. FIFA’s pitch notes show off a lot of the before and after for the GK’s different movements.

EA Sports has released a new patch for FIFA 19 and is finally taking care of some of football's most pressing issues. The main novelty of the FIFA 19 update 7 are the revised deals, to be precise both the timed finishing and the so-called timed finesse shots are weakened.
Behind these two names is nothing less than the two strongest shots of the game. The timed finishing is a kind of super shot and was first introduced in FIFA 19. If you press the shot button a second time with a shot on target at the right moment, you hit the ball very well. In the finesse shot, on the other hand, you complete a direct pick-off with a cut shot (that is, just one ball touch in combination with the shot button plus the R1 button).
Both methods are considered pretty strong in FIFA 19, if not overpowered. Now EA Sports has toned down both shots with the new patch, so they are as prone to error as any normal shot (say, the ball slips us over the slippers).

Finally, there are a few enhancements to the Pro Clubs mode, and the developers are finally providing a fix for a nasty bug in career mode that FIFA fans have been waiting for for over a month.

Sometimes the 'Take Me There' link for a Squad Building Challenge (SBC) would not take the player to the SBC screen.
If this issue occurred, attempting to change tabs in the FUT hub would also not work correctly.
When completing an SBC with rewards that contained multiple packs of the same type, the SBC Completion Screen was only displaying the name under one of the packs.
Attempting to list a player on the Transfer Market from the SBC Squad Screen, who had just been purchased off the Transfer Market, would sometimes result in an error.

Original Story - FIFA 19 Ultimate Team fans might have all eyes on the release of the new FIFA 19 TOTW 19 release coming tomorrow, but in the more immediate future, it's worth noting that EA has dropped the games first big title update, but only on PC.
The latest update includes a whole assortment of changes and fixes to Ultimate Team following the Christmas break. But PS4 and Xbox One fans won't see the benefit of these changes for at least a few more days or possibly up to a week, when EA Sports release the patch on console.
Typically EA has rolled out their latest updates on PC first before eventually releasing on console a few days later. Although the changes are almost always the same.
There's not too much to take in, because as Futhead has remarked in their analysis, it's a bit of a " bare bones".
"Amongst the new introductions, the FUT Champions Channel in the Weekend League sub-menus will now show more rage quits, your team will show up on the left in Team Management each time you play FUT Champs, and Pro Clubs friendlies now properly support extra time and penalties," remarked Futhead.
That being said, there have been a lot of changes to how shooting works and also the movement of keepers.
